They should make henchies flaggable first. Each of them.
And make their skillbars not so terrible.
Mhenlo in EoTN still has Orison and Vig Spirit for f's sake.

Most of the time part of the mission is to keep that NPC protected. If you can flag him, then you'll be removing any difficulty that the mission might have had.

if you cant even keep the npcs up, you should rethink your strategy, not make the game adapt to your bad game play

Would be cool, but i can usually compensate for their stupidity with takedown power. Images of Prince Rurik charging into mobs of lvl 25+ charr in HM ending the mission painfully come to mind.

... I wouldn't even agree with Henchies. Although I WOULD like a way to control Rurik in Nolani Academy >.<

Even so I still don't agree. I mean except the NPC's that are essential, how can any of those NPC's be a hindrance? The Centaurs in Kodonur are great because they add a bit of firepower while being bait so your team doesn't get nuked lol. The Golems got great attack power, not to mention the extra defense and they are easy to ressurrect.
Ok so they mess up pulls... not the best examples you brought though, since Centaurs don't attack unless your group is attacked (I've played the mission over 20 times and never seen them aggro) and the golems in DD can be set to never attack lol. The only NPC's that mess up pulls are Rurik and Kilroy, and since it's part of Kilroys charm, only Rurik.

/notsigned. They don't need to be fixed and most of the time they're part of a mission.

I don't think it's an unreasonable challenge that in some missions you should have to babysit NPCs whose behavior you can't very well control. Many NPCs like Dorian in D'Alessio Seaboard or Togo in Vizunah Square more or less outrank your own command, therefore it makes perfect sense you have no authority to flag them in positions of your choosing. In fact if anything, maybe they should somehow be flagging YOU. Wouldn't that be interesting...

Anyway, /notsigned

This is a terrible idea, NPC's are NPC's- NON-Player Characters, end of story. the game isnt hard or undo able so this def. doesnt need to happen.

The easy way to avoid this situation is not to pull using your own character.

This is actually a better method as if it goes wrong you can flag the "puller" away from the party.

Just take a ranger hero and micro manage the pulling, that way the npcs will stay with the party or rather with you.

There will be some missions where the npcs push on ahead anyway you will just have to accept this.

On one hand, I agree that it is your job to protect that NPC, and flagging would be weak sauce.

On the other hand, It sucks when you are cleaning up baddies that the NPC aggroed and they charge right into the next mob before you are ready (healed, E regen, minnions summoned, drops gathered, etc.).

On the gripping hand, running ahead of the NPC and clearing the road is kind of like cheating (even though we do it, especially the 10th+ time you run that mission). It takes the suspense out of the game play.

So /notsigned, although I would sign one that makes the NPCs not act like dooshito supremes.

Just as everyone else has already stated: it is part of the mission and thus does not need to be removed.

Mission goal for Tahnakkai Temple: "Protect Togo as he and Mhenlo ravage eachother."
You: Ok. Easy enough... *flags back at beginning*

Yea... Get the idea?

I don't think you should be allowed to flag NPC allies such as Togo, Rurik, etc. because of reasons already stated. But I'd love to see a way for us to flag individual henchmen. I don't think they could use the little flag buttons beneath the compass since there would simply be too many buttons. No idea how they would implement it.

Say you want to send in a warrior henchman to tank damage or something (we all know tank henchies/heroes suck but this is just for argument's sake). You can't just flag your warrior henchie in. You have to flag everyone. Squishies including.

Or say you're up against an AoE Ele boss. I prefer to spread my heroes out. Can't do that with henchmen. =/

So. I agree with the idea of letting NPCs be flagged. But just keep it to henchmen/heroes, not allies.

/notsigned for main NPC's that can fail you if they die, but they do need an /unstuck for the ones that sometimes bug and get stuck with cynn on a canthan chest *cough*mhenlo*cough*.

Anywaysssss I think they should just include the trashy ones into henchmen list for you. you know the ones that just sit there and die fast to try and help out even tho they dont, not change the party window but basically make them set bound with your hench indirectly making them part of the flag thing I guess. Who knows

I am DEEPLY appalled at the arrogance of this suggestion. PERSONALLY i wouldnt even dream of telling MASTER Togo what to do.

Instruct Vizier Khilbron on how to raise an army of dead??!??!?!?!

-Simply Absurd

Also....if i pissed off Confessor Dorian ....he might...just rip my more delicate parts asunder with his powerful MONKY magic.

OF course....then there is

XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX
XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX
XXXXXXXXXXXX Mhenlo XXXXXXXXXXXX
XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX
XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX

Mhenlo's existence is a plague upon every GW gamer. It is not particularly because of his performance in Prophecies or EOTN campaigns...or even NF for that matter.

It is in Factions in which Mhenlo is deified as an infamous failure...nay two-faced, mob-loving, abominable traitor.....anathema.

OVERTLY working to foil the protagonist's (player) every attempt at completing goals within a reasonable time frame Mhenlo snickers in sedition, cackles in conspiracy, and guffaws in a gaudy god-like display of self-engorging villainy. And the WORST part about it all is that the player is powerless to do nothing. All that is left for the player is to endure.... As this gruff hooligan of a monk is rammed.... chafing, grinding, tenderizing, flesh being strewn apart....into every bodily orifice his/her in-game character possesses.

At every point were Mhenlo exists in EVERY campaign he should be removed, and a a gaping yet strangely comfortable hole left in his place. I think the feeling would be akin to that which one has when released from a light-less dank hopeless prison never before knowing anything different.

Just rename Mhenlo Leeroy, and give him the proper quotes...then at least it might be mildly amusing when he rushes all 4 Temple Guardians -in HM
